BIOGRAPHY
Although an Alberta son, Steve’s roots and family
tree reach from Kahkewistahaw, Saskatchewan to the mighty Peace River Country of Alberta. Steve is happily married,
a fun-loving daddy, and a serious musician, self-taught in everything he uses in his recordings. His songwriting
reflects all he holds close and dear to his heart, his family, life experience and his hopes for the future. Steve’s
first love in music has always been his Gospel roots, being the son of two Ordained Christian Minister parents.
Steve always thanks God first for all the blessings in his life, and has often been heard saying God gave him a
new song.
Steve has written over 200 songs, has performed for numerous venues across Northern and Western Canada, and takes
part in regular tours for empowering and inspiring young people in Canadian communities affected by the Residential
School Legacy.
Steve’s second CD, Let It Rain was nominated in two categories for the 2008 Covenant Awards. The Prayer Song for
Country/Bluegrass Song of the Year and Let It Rain: Steve Rain and Friends for Country/Bluegrass Album of the Year.
